Materials for Learning

The students of Chinotimba Primary School lack access to the basic learning tools many of us take for granted. The government does not provide any educational materials, leaving schools to purchase them using tuition fees. Unfortunately, many parents and caregivers in Chinotimba cannot afford these fees, which means the school cannot update or replace outdated textbooks.

Currently, the school’s “library” consists of only a few books, most of which are in poor condition. Establishing a basic library for these children is estimated to cost $8,000. Additionally, math, science, and computer science textbooks are outdated and insufficient—typically shared by six to eight students per book. Replacing these materials would require an estimated $10,000.

Chinotimba also has no computers or Wi-Fi for learning. Providing basic tablets for the students would cost approximately $200 each.

While gathering donations of learning materials would be ideal, shipping to Zimbabwe remains unreliable and prohibitively expensive. We are actively researching cost-effective shipping solutions to address this challenge.

Your support can make a profound difference in transforming the educational opportunities for these children.
